The ICNS mission is to create an environment which encourages healthy and balanced growth of nursery school children and families. It is our goal to establish a classroom setting which reflects the values of caring for our community and environment in ways that support healthy living.
The school's philosophy of early childhood education is child-centered. The focus of the education is determined by the academic and developmental readiness of each child. We try to present opportunities for learning which are tailored to the interests and readiness of the children as individuals, and also as a group. There is a planned academic curriculum followed throughout the year, which also evolves to meet the changing needs of students. A child-centered focus also acknowledges the importance of play in children's lives. Play is the primary way children experience the world, and therefore learn.
