Meet our new teacher for the 26’/27’ school year!

"My name is Kate Zimmer. Some of you may have seen me assisting in the Three’s class, where the kids call me Ms. Grandma. It makes me laugh every time.

This will be my first year teaching at ICNS, but it’s far from my first year working with children. Some people were born to fly airplanes, and I was born to sit on the floor with children – reading, singing, building, painting, and laughing. Three and four-year-olds are some of the best people on earth. I can’t think of any place I’d rather be.

I earned my Elementary Ed. Certification from SUNY Geneseo, and I have an additional 30 graduate hours in Reading and Language Arts, K-12 from the University of Vermont. Some of my favorite authors include Kevin Henkes, Mem Fox, and Tomie DePaola.

I have years of experience teaching toddlers, preschoolers, elementary schoolers, and middle schoolers. Each of those students holds an important place in my heart.

I am so looking forward to getting to know all of you. We’re going to have a very good year!"

- Ms. Kate

After many years of dedicated teaching, Ms. Diana is retiring from our preschool. We are deeply thankful for the care, joy and wisdom she has shared with so many children and families over the years. Her impact on our community will always be remembered.

 Why Choose ICNS?

EDUCATIONAL LEARN-THROUGH-PLAY PROGRAM

Our child-centered focus acknowledges the importance of play in children's lives. Play is the primary way children experience the world, and therefore learn.

SMALL CLASS SIZES

Our Three’s class has a maximum of 12 children and our Pre-K class has a maximum of 14 children.

PREPARE FOR FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN

Working together, we strive to build an environment in which children can learn through play and begin to make the transition from home to full-time school.

ORGANIZED AND RUN BY PARENTS

ICNS consists of families drawn together by a common interest: taking an active role in their children's education. The school is governed by parents and employs highly qualified, certified teachers who direct the educational program.

Our Classes

Our classes are designed to teach skills such as listening, following directions, completing a task, sharing, and recognizing acceptable behaviors. They allow children to meet and play with new friends, build new relationships between children and adults outside the children's families, and nurture self-confidence and independence.

 What Parents Are Saying

“ICNS has been an amazing preschool for our two kids! Diana is a great teacher and prepares the kids for kindergarten. Being involved in the school as a parent is a positive because you know what is happening and can contribute to make the school better for all.”
- Cindy

“ICNS is everything I could have hoped for when signing my 3 year old up for a Pre-K program. Ms. Diana is great with the kids and is teaching my son how to be respectful of his classmates while having fun. Being a cooperative has provided me the opportunity to help the school my son is going to and see him in the classroom on my assist days. I cannot recommend ICNS enough!"

- Bre

“ICNS has helped my son to grow and thrive. It is his favorite part of the week. Ms. Diana is so patient with all of the kids and you can tell everyone loves being there to learn and play.”
